Alieu is a professional with a background in Human Development and Gender, currently serving at the World Bank in Banjul, The Gambia. With a decade of experience in the public health sector of The Gambia, he transitioned to the World Bank as an Early Years Fellow. His expertise lies in the design and execution of programs aimed at the developmental needs of young children.
In his present role, Alieu contributes to human development projects, collaborating with the Gambian government to advance initiatives focused on human capital development and gender. He has successfully spearheaded a playful parenting initiative, which has benefited the parents and caregivers of over 1,000 children aged 0 to 3 years in the nation's most impoverished district. Building on this success, he is now involved in the expansion of this program to an additional 20 districts within The Gambia.
