Bridging the domains of climate, conservation, community-based resource management, science, and policy, Dr Davies-Mostert is dedicated to delivering impact to conserve Africa’s rich biodiversity.
Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Harriet has spent the last 25 years driving climate, conservation and sustainability initiatives across southern Africa. In her current role as Director of Impact at Conserve Global, she works closely with proximate leaders and governments to ensure that thriving natural landscapes bring benefits to the people who live in them.
Harriet is Regional Vice-Chair for East and Southern Africa of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas. With >50 scientific papers and book chapters covering topics from large carnivore ecology, natural resources governance and policy, the wildlife economy, and restorative justice, she holds an MSc in Tropical Resource Ecology from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Doctorate on African Wild Dogs from Oxford University.
