Robin helped co-create and found UMI Fund in 2018-2019 and co-directed the Fund for 4 years until taking over as Executive Director at the end of 2023. Prior to working in philanthropy, Robin was a campaigns and movement building practitioner and NGO leader. He worked across Greenpeace globally over a period of nearly 20 years with leadership roles in forest, climate and energy campaigns and as Greenpeace UK Programme Director. He led the team that successfully campaigned in coalition to thwart new UK coal plants, helping start the process to a full UK coal phase out. His teams were also central to a global campaign to halt offshore oil drilling in the Arctic, which led to Shell withdrawing its plans. Robin has worked as a grassroots activist and in organisations focused on human rights, free speech and peace, in roles encompassing campaigns, strategic communications and fundraising.
